Hi everyone! I wanted to start of my blog and my last summer before college with some guidelines for what I want my life to be. I don’t necessarily expect to meet every thing on this list; however, I want to keep these things in mind as I go throughout the rest of my year. Mental Health
Allow for more positivity
As I think about the past few years of my life, I have noticed that I tend to cut myself off from the world. This has resulted in some pretty negative impacts on my mental health and my physical health. This year I want to find little ways to be more positive and grateful.
Meditate More Often
I have found that meditation is something that really helps me to relax and take myself away from my concerns for a little while. I typically meditate just when I am extremely stressed for about an hour. I want to integrate meditation into my daily (or at least weekly) routine. I have downloaded a few apps to help me with this and hope to start using them more.
School
Finish High school with a 3.1 GPA
For the scholarships I have lined up, I need to keep a 3.0 GPA. This is really just a reminder that I need can’t let seniority’s get the best of me.
Finalize plans for college
This one I know I will check off my list, and it’s really just on here
Personal life
Work on my art
Art is one thing that I had never really taken seriously before. My senior year of high school I am taking an Art I course and I love it! I want to really work at this because it is something that makes me truly happy and accomplished.
Open an etsy
Going along with the last point, I would like to possibly open an etsy this year. This one is a bit far fetched for me and I don’t necessarily plan to accomplish it this year, but I wanted to put it on here so that I at least have the idea in mind to maybe work towards as a long term goal.
Start a youtube channel that focuses on positivity and love
I have wanted to start a youtube channel for the past 3 or 4 years of my life and honestly I just need to do it. I want to focus my channel on things that make me genuinely happy, so I would probably post about makeup, lifestyle, mental health, lgbtq+ issues, dancing, art, etc. and just my general views and opinions on the world.
Physical Health
Do a 3 day juice cleanse
This is really more for my physical health and digestive system more than anything. I have a lot of problems with my stomach that cause a lot of pain and I want to hopefully clean out my system with a juice cleanse.
Get down to a healthy weight
I am currently slightly overweight and I can just tell the affects it has on me. I have less energy and have more physical issues and I really just want to loose a bit of weight.
Go to the gym at least 3 times a week (not including dance or yoga classes)
This goes along with loosing weight but this isn’t the only reason I want to
Try Vegetarianism (or veganism) for at least 1 whole month
Recently I entered the world of Mafism, which means that I do not eat any mammal meat (i.e. pork, ham, hamburgers, sausage, etc.) I still eat turkey and chicken (and occasionally Quail if my dad went hunting). The reason I have gone mafist is because I have a stomach condition where I can not eat red meat (similar to lactose intolerance).( Another blog as to my mafist experience will be up soon!) For the same reason, I want to go at least one month this year not consuming any kind of meat. I want to see how my body responds to this and if it is beneficial to me.
